Life with the Hawks

A couple of days ago we found yet another "incident report" in Casey's backpack and he had a big scratch on his face. Of course the report only gives as little info as possible. "Casey was scratched by another student during a disagreement." So Jason and I proceeded to ask what happened to his face. He said "Aidyn scratched me." When we asked him why he said she didn't want to play a game with him. It can be challenging at times to ask a 3 year old just the right questions to get the answers we are looking for. Finally I said "what is the name of the game that Aidyn didn't want to play?" Casey said "Bas-ting" (no idea). Then I asked him how to play this obviously made-up game. He said "Well, first you PUNCH, and then you fall down and you win $3!" Jason and I just looked at each other and busted out laughing. $3! so then I asked him what he did when Aidyn scratch him and he said "Oh, I scratched her back." The game is still a mystery to us and we of course had to have the discussion of playing nice. The fun never ends.
